2026 ranking
Canada's 10 best casino hotels for 2026
Last updated · facts verified
Plenty of Canadian casinos have a motel across the parking lot. Far fewer are true resorts — one building where you sleep, eat, watch a show and play. This ranking is about those. We put twelve casino hotels through six criteria, rooms first and access last; the ten highest totals made the cut.
Our scores are editorial, built only from what each property and named sources publish. Hotels don't pay us, and a place on this list can't be bought.

Each hotel in the top ten
Rooms aimed at the falls, stacked above a giant gaming floor
Say "casino hotel" to most Canadians and Fallsview is the picture that comes to mind — with reason. The tally: 372 rooms angled at the falls, 3,200-plus slot machines and 110 tables downstairs, two theatres (the big one, OLG Stage, seats 5,000) and 20-plus restaurants. Nowhere else in Canada fits that much under one roof with that view out the window.

Ideal for: A car-free weekend of falls views, a headline show and the tables, all in one building.
Think twice if: Buffets are your thing, or the kids plan to swim solo — anyone under 12 needs a parent in the water with them.
758 rooms looking across the river at Detroit
758 rooms — more than anywhere else in this guide — split over two towers, most of them pointed at the Detroit skyline across the river. Downstairs: 2,000-plus slot machines and 80-plus tables. Next door: the 5,000-seat Colosseum, whose farthest seat is 225 feet from the stage. And all of it downtown, not off a highway ramp.

The newest big resort near Pearson, right beside Woodbine
Next to Woodbine Racetrack, the youngest of the Toronto area's big casino resorts — a full resort only since 2023. It brings 400 rooms, a theatre holding up to 5,000, a pool with sauna and steam room, no-charge parking and a free Pearson shuttle; the operator adds that no Canadian casino offers more slot machines to choose from.

Think twice if: Views matter to you (it's racetrack or city edge), or you want more than 388 sq ft in a standard room.
A five-star lakeside Hilton ten minutes from Parliament Hill
Ten minutes' drive from downtown Ottawa, between two lakes: a five-star Hilton wired to a Loto-Québec casino. The water is the star — indoor and outdoor pools heated twelve months a year — backed by a 17-room Amerispa, an 1,100-seat theatre and 1,400-plus slots. Canada has no more complete spa-plus-casino package.

Think twice if: Your group includes under-18s who want in on the casino, theatre or bars — all three are 18+.
A Fraser River resort next door to a Canada Line station
Getting to River Rock is easier than reaching any other casino hotel in Canada: the Canada Line runs seven minutes to YVR and eighteen to downtown Vancouver. Once there, you've got 396 rooms (some seriously big suites), Gordon Ramsay Steak — his first in Canada — a water-slide pool and a marina on the Fraser.

A cottage-country resort with a 5,000-seat stage, halfway through a refresh
The biggest overhaul Casino Rama has seen in years is well under way on its Rama First Nation site near Orillia: rooms renovated since 2025, a ground-floor spa, three new restaurants led by Gateway's Atlas Steak and Fish. The constant is the 5,000-seat Entertainment Centre, still pulling major acts up the 400.

Think twice if: You're relying on transit — Orillia is about a two-hour drive north of Toronto.
The first fully integrated Hard Rock in Canada, open since July 2025
Youngest property in the guide (opened July 3, 2025) and the first fully integrated Hard Rock resort in Canada. Inside: 150 rooms including 22 suites, a casino that never closes with 1,500-plus slot machines, a Council Oak steakhouse, and Hard Rock LIVE holding up to 2,200. Age 19 and over only — and that covers the beds.

Two NHL rinks, a Hell's Kitchen and a new tower on the way
Enoch Cree Nation land at Edmonton's western edge is home to River Cree: a 249-room hotel, one of Alberta's biggest casinos, Gordon Ramsay's first Hell's Kitchen in Canada, two NHL-size rinks and a free West Edmonton Mall shuttle. Still to come: an 18-storey hotel tower, now under construction.

Think twice if: You want a brand-new room today; the new tower isn't due until 2027.
Views of the Rockies from the edge of Calgary
Owned and operated by the Tsuut'ina Nation at Calgary's south-west edge, Grey Eagle opened its 178-room hotel in 2014. Ask for a west-facing room and you may see the Rockies; check the 2,500-seat Event Centre for a strong line-up; eat at Little Chief, one of the West's better casino restaurants. The pool is out of action through a renovation that stretches into 2027.

The pick for Atlantic Canada: spacious rooms, and pets allowed
Built in 2010 in Moncton, Casino New Brunswick is Atlantic Canada's casino hotel. The 126 rooms start at a roomy 440 sq ft, with city or mountain views through windows that actually open; add a pool, a concert hall, free parking and a welcome for pets, with Magnetic Hill and Hopewell Rocks within reach.

Reviewed, outside the top ten
Club Regent Casino Hotel
A Canad Inns hotel bolted onto Manitoba's Club Regent Casino: 146 non-smoking rooms, around 1,200 slot machines plus bingo, and a 1,300-seat event centre. Practical, not glamorous.
Cascades Casino Resort
Gateway's Cascades casino in Langley City, paired with the 77-room Coast hotel. Good steak at ATLAS, gaming 24 hours a day, free parking — and no pool, no theatre.
