Grown-ups only

Before it was a Hard Rock, this site was the Rideau Carleton casino. A $350 million expansion followed, the doors opened on July 3, 2025, and Hard Rock calls the result its first fully integrated resort in Canada; Hard Rock International operates it under OLG. Plan everything around one rule: no one under 19 gets onto any part of the property — not the rooms, not the restaurants, not just the casino.

Rooms

150 rooms, 22 of them suites. Deluxe King and Deluxe Queen measure 389 sq ft; the Queen sleeps four. The Silver and Gold Suites add living space, and the Gold throws in a bar area and a freestanding tub. Music fans can use the "Sound of Your Stay" programme: an in-room guitar and a curated vinyl selection.

Gaming

Open 24/7/365: 1,500-plus slot machines, live tables at all hours (blackjack, craps, roulette, mini baccarat and more), a new baccarat room and VIP high-limit play. Unity by Hard Rock — tiers Star, Legend, Icon, plus invite-only X — also knocks money off valet and the shuttle.

Music

Hard Rock LIVE: 23,000 sq ft, up to 1,900 seated, 2,200 capacity. The Joint: 25 to 400. Free on Friday and Saturday nights: live sets on the Council Oak Lounge stage, and tribute or cover bands at the Hard Rock Cafe.

Food

Top table: Council Oak Steaks & Seafood, modelled on the Seminole Hard Rock original in Florida, with Sunday brunch 10 am–3 pm. Easier options: Brick'd Italian Kitchen, YOUYU Noodle Bar, the Hard Rock Cafe. The Constant Grind café in the Marketplace is open 24/7.

Gym, pool, valet

Body Rock is the 24-hour gym (room-key access, Technogym kit). Pool: none on the hotel's published amenity pages — don't pack for one. Valet never closes; price depends on Unity tier — $20 without membership, $15 Star, $10 Legend, free at Icon and X. There are two EV chargers.

Access

Ottawa's airport is about two miles away. The resort shuttle to Leitrim and Uplands O-Train stations costs $5 one way, $3.50 with Unity, card or tap only. Harness racing at the raceway next door ended in March 2026.

Verdict

Ottawa's newest rooms plus the best live-music calendar among casino hotels of its size. Great for couples and friends; a non-starter with children.
