River Cree Resort & Casino
Enoch Cree Nation land at Edmonton's western edge is home to River Cree: a 249-room hotel, one of Alberta's biggest casinos, Gordon Ramsay's first Hell's Kitchen in Canada, two NHL-size rinks and a free West Edmonton Mall shuttle. Still to come: an 18-storey hotel tower, now under construction.
Grey Eagle Resort & Casino
Owned and operated by the Tsuut'ina Nation at Calgary's south-west edge, Grey Eagle opened its 178-room hotel in 2014. Ask for a west-facing room and you may see the Rockies; check the 2,500-seat Event Centre for a strong line-up; eat at Little Chief, one of the West's better casino restaurants. The pool is out of action through a renovation that stretches into 2027.
