Fallsview Casino Resort: our review

Last updated · facts verified

Say "casino hotel" to most Canadians and Fallsview is the picture that comes to mind — with reason. The tally: 372 rooms angled at the falls, 3,200-plus slot machines and 110 tables downstairs, two theatres (the big one, OLG Stage, seats 5,000) and 20-plus restaurants. Nowhere else in Canada fits that much under one roof with that view out the window.

Ideal for: A car-free weekend of falls views, a headline show and the tables, all in one building.
Think twice if: Buffets are your thing, or the kids plan to swim solo — anyone under 12 needs a parent in the water with them.

Why it's number one

Most casino hotels sell you a bed near the machines. Fallsview sells the window. In the resort's own description, every one of its 372 rooms and suites was oriented toward a view — Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, the Niagara skyline, or a blend. Underneath sits a 200,000-square-foot floor carrying 3,200-plus slot machines and 110 tables. Throw in two theatres and 20-plus restaurants and you have a weekend that never needs the car keys.

Choosing your view

Deluxe rooms: one king, two queens or two doubles, pointing one of three ways — Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls, or the city. Each has a desk and seating corner, coffee maker, safe, iron and hairdryer. Read the FAQ before you click "book": some falls-view rooms catch both cascades, some catch just one. If the water is the whole point, pick the category deliberately and get it confirmed.

Suites come in five flavours. Diplomat — curved along the tower's outer wall, panoramic falls or city view, whirlpool tub. Parlour — American Falls outlook, pull-out sofa, second TV. Executive — partial falls view, separate bedroom. Ambassador and Premier — straight-on falls views and a separate bedroom, with the Premier adding full living and dining areas plus an oversized bathroom.

Timing: 4 pm check-in, 11 am check-out; room service in two slots only, 7–11 am and 6–11 pm.

The floor

Bring ID: it's 19+, and the resort explicitly bars strollers and babies in arms. Drinks flow at the Infinity Bar from 9 am to 1:50 am. Loyalty runs through Momentum, Mohegan's scheme: Core is free, then come Ignite, Leap, Ascend and Soar. Reach Ignite and casino parking stops costing you anything — worth knowing, because non-members pay a day-rate the resort sets.

320-plus shows a year

Here's where Fallsview outclasses nearly everyone. OLG Stage: 5,000 seats, none (the resort says) farther than 150 feet from the performers, plus a Billboard ranking as Canada's top venue in the 2,501–5,000 bracket. Avalon Theatre: 1,559 seats, none beyond 100 feet. Between them, more than 320 shows a year on the resort's numbers. December trip? Niagara Falls Tourism has Christmas On Ice playing the Avalon November 26 – December 20, 2026 — season 14, 32 performances.

Food

Start at the top: 21 Club Steak & Seafood is the flagship, and it and the Italian Ponte Vecchio each display OpenTable's "Top 50 Hotel Restaurants 2026" badge. Cantonese means Golden Lotus; beyond that there's a Noodle Bar, a Sushi & Oyster Bar, The Falls Deli, and Bar Barista, which switches from coffee to cocktails as evening comes. Walk the Galleria for Lucky's, Vittorio's, Paramount Fine Foods, Shoeless Joe's and a Niagara Brewing Company taproom. Two gaps to know about: no buffet is running at present, and Dragonfly, the nightclub, is closing after almost 20 years — something new is promised in its place, name still unannounced.

Pool, gym, spa

The indoor pool needs a daily key and keeps 7 am–10 pm hours; kids under 12 swim only with a parent. Gym: 7 am–9 pm. Treatments come from Damara Day Spa — a relaxation massage was $158 on one tourism ticket listing.

Getting here

Driving: about 90 minutes from Toronto and 45 from Buffalo, according to the resort; Pearson airport is some 125 km away. Without a car: GO trains from Union Station reach Niagara Falls on weekends and holidays. Between Fallsview and Casino Niagara there's a complimentary half-hourly shuttle, 4 pm to 12:45 am, running Friday to Sunday plus show days. The garage parks 3,000-plus cars and has ten EV chargers — four on P1, six on P5. Only certified service animals may come along.

Verdict

If Canada gets one casino-hotel night on your calendar, spend it here — and spend a little extra on the view. Book a falls-facing category, build the dates around the show listings, and sign up for Momentum before the drive, since parking is where the hidden cost sits.

Quick answers

Will my Fallsview room face the falls?

Only if you book a falls-view category. Rooms look at Horseshoe Falls, the American Falls or the city, and the FAQ admits some falls-facing rooms see one cascade rather than both — confirm when you reserve.

Does Fallsview still have a buffet?

Not right now; its dining page says no buffet is operating.

Is Fallsview OK for a family trip?

Yes. Kids may go anywhere except the 19+ casino floor, and under-12s must have a parent with them in the pool.
